Wisdom of the Lotus Sutra #1 (study intensive)
FNCC – May 10 – 13 -2013
What is the focus of this conference?
The Lotus Sutra is the basis of Nichiren Buddhism. SGI President Ikeda says: “The Lotus Sutra teaches of the great hidden treasure of the heart, as vast as the universe itself, which dispels any feelings of powerlessness” (The Wisdom of the Lotus Sutra, vol. 1, p. 14).
The Wisdom of the Lotus Sutra Conference” will delve into the life-affirming principles upon which Nichiren Buddhism is founded. Learn about the three assemblies in two places, causes and conditions, the seven key parables of the Lotus Sutra, America’s connection to the Lotus Sutra, and the meanings of “this is what I heard” and “teacher of the Law.”
The conference focuses on volumes 1 and 2 of the Wisdom of the Lotus Sutradialogue series, which participants are encouraged to bring with them. Many sessions will include a question-and-answer corner. Participants will also enjoy a night of Buddhist Jeopardy, where they can test their knowledge of Buddhism and more!
*The two Wisdom of the Lotus Sutra conferences (#1 and #2) for 2013 will cover the same material and content.

Amazing Men’s Division Conference
Raising Courageous Successors
Aug 17 – 20 (2012)
Men’s Division Conference #1
What is the focus of this conference?
Imparting the Light of Hope and Courage
While chanting Nam-myoho-rengekyo ourselves and teaching others to do the same, we of the SGI have encouraged and inspired countless people with the confident assertion that any negative karma can be transformed, and any person can become happy without fail. Spreading this encouraging message is the way to realize the ideal of “establishing the correct teaching for the peace of the land” that the Daishonin entrusted to us. This is because when bolstered by supportive ties, people can overcome any disaster or setback and together create a society of peace and happiness. In this age that sometimes seems like a long, dark tunnel without an exit, it is even more important that we try to talk to and encourage others in a bright, friendly and positive spirit, imparting the light of hope and courage to all whom we meet.(March 30, 2012World Tribune)
This conference will focus on providing every man who attends a clear understanding on how to have a victory in every aspect of his life. The deepened understanding of each participant will be strengthened by an increased confidence inspired by the presentations, exhibits, small group dialogues and experiences which are entirely geared towards encouraging men.
Together with men from all over the country, every participant will have the opportunity to fortify his own determination to share our mentor’s heart and vision, and be empowered to share his hope and courage inspired by this conference.
